Our Impact
At the Velasco Family Foundation, impact begins with people.
From creating transformative experiences for young people to responding when communities need support, our work is rooted in a commitment to show up, listen, and serve with intention.
What began as a vision to create meaningful opportunities for youth has continued to grow. Through the Life Ready Retreat, the Foundation has created a space where young people can build confidence, explore their potential, strengthen their mental and emotional wellness, and develop the skills needed to navigate life with greater purpose.
Beyond our youth programming, we believe impact also means responding to the needs of the communities that helped shape us. Through community engagement and service, the Foundation continues to extend its reach beyond a single program or event.
Investing in Young People
The Life Ready Retreat brings middle and high school boys together for an immersive three-day experience centered on leadership, mentorship, mental wellness, career exploration, faith, and practical life skills.
As the retreat enters its third year, the Foundation remains focused on strengthening the experience, reaching more young people, and creating an environment where every participant feels seen, supported, and encouraged to believe in what is possible.
Reaching Communities
Our commitment to service extends beyond the retreat.
When communities face challenges, we believe in showing up. From providing meals and support to hundreds of individuals following a devastating storm in Wrens, Georgia, to launching the Life Ready Tour as a way to bring messages of leadership, resilience, mental wellness, and purpose directly to young people, the Foundation continues to find meaningful ways to meet people where they are.
